Please be aware that there is a new Tik Tok trend,

#ChromebookChallenge, going around where students are purposely shorting out their Chromebooks to cause them to catch on fire by jamming a lead or metal into the charging port or stabbing the battery.

There are videos online showing students using the lead refills or pencils into the port. It will start smoking and cause an explosion. Please talk to your student(s) about this potential safety hazard and possible damage to TESD property.

Please be aware that if your student chooses to engage in this trend, they will be financially responsible for technology damage and school disciplinary steps will be taken.
